The Nunez Foundation
is a nonprofit organization funding educational and life skill opportunities to the youth of Aurora, Colorado, by providing pathways to career awareness, decision making skills and post-secondary education.

Our organization was established in 1996 as a 501(c)(3) tax deductible foundation for the purposes of

  • the advancement of post-secondary education by identifying perspective candidates and granting of education scholarships
  • to encourage high school students in acquiring college level education
  • to implement programs directed at youth and adults to encourage and facilitate acqusition of higher education and/or life skills

Norma Nunez established the foundation in memory of Nabor Nunez, co-owners of La Cueva Mexican Restaurant. The Nunez family has been instrumental in community service and the revitalization of east Colfax in Aurora. Norma recognized the critical need for supporting educational efforts for youth in the community.

For the past decade, the Nunez Foundation has provided over $75,000 in scholarship and career development opportunities to over 50 Aurora and Denver Metropolitan area high school seniors.

Each summer, thirty middle school students are provided funding for participation in three-day long workshops hosted on a local college campus. This summer camp exposes middle school students to fun and informational activities geared toward career awareness and planning.

Our admnistrative costs are less than 5%, leaving 95% of contributions directed to scholarships.

One-hundred percent of financial contributions made through this website will be directed to scholarships with no administrative costs allocated toward this effort. Your contribution now will help send a teenager to college or technical school who otherwise wouldn't be able to go.
